The whole head is covered. These gas mask hoods are molded - all in one piece, not thin sheet material cut and glued.
The latex will vary in thickness depending on the model of the gas mask. On average the latex is thick, very thick, around the face (.070 - .125) and graduates to a thinner material for the rear head covering. Standard weight (.030 - .035) at the back of the head offers the most comfort for several hours of wear. The thick latex has less stretch that can place a lot of pressure on the skin, we recommend one size bigger for comfort. The XL fits from 14.5" necks to 17"
Filters are a restricted item for shipping to the USA. They are not included.
