Caught-In-The-Act - The Vacpac Bag - VP01
Some of the - How To
Your vacpac and its parts are stored in the OPTIONAL Cotton Carry Bag
It is very important that the latex vacpac bag air tight zipper be stored with no kinks or sharp corners. To keep nice round corners when folding the bag, use the vent pipe to keep a rounded corner for the zipper. Store the bag with the zipper fully open because material fatigue from a closed zipper will lead to premature wearing out and air leaks in the zipper. Never weight down the zipper, keep it on top.
The 6 plastic pipes can be tethered with 2 Velcro straps (not included) for easier storage.

6 pieces of 2" perforated plastic pipe forms the frame placed inside the vacpac latex bag. Assembly: layout the latex bag on a firm continuous surface. Do not try to use a bed, damage to the vacpac bag will result. Use a floor or large padded surface that supports the entire vacpac bag. It is overall about 45" x 84" Insert the end tubing with the elbows to each end of the latex bag. Insert one of the inner side pipes with a connector fitting into the end elbow pipe at the foot of the vacpac. Be careful not to pinch the latex sheeting in the elbow. Next connect the inner side pipe into the elbow end pipe at the head of the bag. Now connect the two pipes in the centre to complete the inner side of the frame. Insert the zipper side pipe into the base elbow. To keep pipes from separating while getting in and out we suggest a small piece of duct tape be fitted over the loose joints to resist separation. Have the user get in the bag, adjust the breathing tubes or masks. Note: the users including attendents, should not be wearing any jewelery or metal items that may tear the latex. Sharp finger and toe nails need to be trimmed or covered. Using boots or heavy helmets, gas masks, leather gear can cause damage to the sheeting. We strongly suggest socks or latex items be used as body coverings for hands and feet regardless. Insert the last pipe, the zipper side pipe, into the head elbow. Check to make sure the inner side connections have not loosened or come apart. Fix if necessary at this point. Finally insert the zipper side pipe into the centre connection. Check again carefully that the latex bag is not curled, or, twisted or caught in the pipes. Check the occupant for safety signals, and clear any airway obstructions. Use the small length of hose as an air bridge with one end near the outlet valve and the other near the Occupant's head. This will help extract all the air from around the head. Close the zipper leaving with about 6" remaining from the end. |
The outlet valve Using a vacuum source, gently and slowly cup the vacuum hose near the outlet valve. Do not place the vacuum directly over the valve. The strong suction, can tear the flapper valve or cause rapid vacuum of the bag that may leave the occupant fearful. Take your time. A small length of plastic, supplied, with several air holes can be used between the outlet valve and the vacuum source to prevent rapid suction from the bag. Check the occupant comfort. We suggest several minutes be provided for the occupant to acclimatize to the sensations. When suitable, close the zipper completely. The bag is airtight unless the occupant exhales through their nose. Hoods or similar devices can limit this air leak. Slowly suck out air, a little at a time, monitor the occupant comfort. Once the vacuum intensity desired has been reached, you can shut off the vacuum source. |

OPTIONS
Storage And Carrying Cotton Bag
as shown above
The carrying and storage bag is available as an option: $45.00
Mask and Airways
One suggested set of items to use to make the airway continuous without air leaking into the bag.
Option: Vacpac Hood with mouthpiece only- $125.00 Supply of tubes and other accessories - write us. An extra large hood, black colour, mouth opening only, Mouthpiece fits into opening in the hood. A grommet can be used to hold the mouth piece on the mask. If silicone or other lubricants are used, the mouthpiece may be difficult to retain in the hood or vacpac bag. The mouth piece is then pulled through the opening in the Vacpac bag airway opening. As air is removed the hood will fit tightly over the head, air exchange is only through the breathing tubes or mouthpiece. The risk of the mouthpiece separating from the hood or vacpac bag is possible, be aware of this possibility when moving the head or making sudden movements. To add air slowly to the bag without opening the zipper, use a finger to move the flapper valve and create a leak. At any time the zipper can be opened to restore ambient pressure. Danger - This is a High Risk Experience Please read carefully At no time should the occupant be left unobserved by one or more attendants. Always have the attendants stationed at the side of the vacpac bag to open the zipper instantly if a situation occurs. There are many risks associated with restriction from suction, vacuum and airway obstruction. Caught-In-The-Act recommends that the participants be trained by knowledgeable and experienced vacrac users. Sources on the Internet, training seminars, books and other resources may help inform the users. Caught-in-The-Act offer their products as novelties only. Please review your risks and responsibilities in the use of any product that may be used in a situation where the partial or complete loss of control by a user may occur. Under no circumstance should the vacpac be used without attendants present (solo experiences). Care of this product. Latex sheets can catch on sharp objects and rip, be especially cautious when washing and drying the bag. Protect the latex from sharp finger nails and toe nails. Do not use with any metal devices or jewelry that may come in contact with the surface. If you use a silicone shine as protectorant extra care is needed as the sheets will tend to stick to the occupant. excessive stress can cause a tear. We highly recommend using powder on the bag surfaces inside and out. Wash and dry thoroughly as per the latex FAQ links. The airtight dry suit type zipper does not require frequent lubrication. However, if it is hard to open or close, use dry suit zipper lubricant available at sports stores and dive shops. Do not kink, bend sharply or pull on the zipper components, which could result in damage to the zipper. Store the zipper in the open position to prevent premature wear and leaks. Make sure the latex is washed after use, dry well allow at least 24 hours to dry, then powder and store loosely in a storage bag. Always store in a cool dark location. |
